Bartholomew island is the perfect place to be if you were ever curious about the landscape of mars. The Bartholomew island is considered a must visit in the Galapagos Islands. This tour will take about 10 hours during which you will be taken back into the time were the enchanted islands were born. The guide will take to explore a very interesting volcanic setting while taking you to climb the top of a volcano for a 360 view of the island.
The tour operator will pick you up in the hotel to take you to the embarkation, the Itabaca Canal. You will be taken to the boat by a raft or a panga to have breakfast on board. Will start your sailing journey for about two hours.Once you arrive to the island there will be a dry landing to start the hike up the volcano, after which you will be going back to the boat to have a snack onboard.
Then you will be enjoying a visit to the beach where you can do some snorkle, go for a swim or just relax in the sand. After this you will be going back to the boat to have lunch and start the journey back, first to the Itabaca Canal and then to your hotel.
The weather in the islands is generally warm but there are some months were we have some rain, so it will be a good idea to bring a rain jacket. Of course don’t forget your sunscreen, swimsuit, sunglasses, comfortable shoes and of course a camera.
This is a walking tour that goes from sea level to an altitude of 374 feet (114 metres), it involves stairs and fairly steep climbing. The hike will last about 1h and 30min.
