Historic Center of Quito

It’s located in the south center of Quito, and is considered the best-preserved historic center and one of the most important in Latin America. The Historic Center of Quito was declared by UNESCO, together with Krakow (Poland), the first Cultural Heritage of Humanity on September 8, 1978. There are numerous monumental buildings and heritage assets that mix pictorial and sculptural art, mainly from religious and inspired by a multifaceted range of schools and styles. This site has the magic of transporting its visitors to the past thanks to its rich history and its tourist attraction, as they walk among the colonial-style houses and stone paths.

Middle of the World City or Ciudad Mitad del Mundo

It's the most visited place in Ecuador, here is the emblematic monument to the Middle of the World exactly at Latitude 0°0'0" that celebrates the equinoctial location of Ecuador. This place is north of Quito, in the parish of San Antonio de Pichincha. Inside the Mitad del Mundo City complex, in addition to taking the iconic picture with the Equator Line and the monument, the tourists can enjoy the 19 tourist attractions that are inside (planetarium, museums, squares, ancestral homes, among others) and participate in the cultural events that highlight Ecuadorian culture.

Pululahua Geobotanical Reserve

The Pululahua Geobotanical Reserve is located at north of Quito, near the Mitad del Mundo City. It covers the inside and the slopes of the volcano of the same name. One of the main tourist attractions of this Reserve is the crater and volcanic caldera, natural formations resulting from ancient eruptions of the Pululahua volcano and one of the few inhabited volcanic craters in the world. Most of the families that live there are dedicated to agriculture, livestock farming and hospitality. In addition, within the Reserve, there are also volcanic domes or hills, known as Pondoña, El Chivo and Pan de Azúcar, which are home to a great diversity of fauna and flora. In this place, the tourists can do activities such as trekking, camping, horseback riding and mountain biking.
